Nov. 10, 2025, marks 10 years to the DAY that Around the Lens began. To celebrate the show, the platform, and the community, we’re bringing back Around the Lens in a big way. So what are we doing to help celebrate the show, and what are we doing to revive it?
First and foremost, we’re launching a new show, Around the Lens: Roundtable Discussions, starting on Nov. 10. It is the same show you know and love —the one we did for 250+ episodes over the past 10 years. Beyond that, we’ll also be formalizing the following shows and plan to release them weekly. The shows will include the following:
- Around the Lens: Roundtable Discussion – A group of 3-5 visual storytellers gathers to discuss topics related to photography, photojournalism, videography, and filmmaking. Topics can range from what’s in the news to what the panelists find interesting or specialize in.
- Around the Lens: One-on-One Interviews – These are interviews between one of Around the Lens’ hosts or contributors and a fascinating figure who can offer unique guidance or insight into themselves or their work.
- Around the Lens: Photo Flip – A show dedicated to new and interesting photobooks. Shows will focus on welcoming the author onto the program and discussing their photobook in detail.
- Around the Lens: In A Flash – A short and quick news show that rounds up the major stories of the day and provides essential information about those stories to keep viewers up to date on the most vital things for them to know.
- Around the Lens: Reviews – Reviews of products and services relevant to our audience.
- Around the Lens: Photo Focus – A discussion about an engaging or impactful photo or series of pictures alongside the photographer who made the image.
- Around the Lens: Critiques – Our team dissects and discusses an image or series of images garnering attention in the news. Reviewers will provide honest, unflinching analysis of the image(s) to offer meaningful feedback to the photographer and help others learn how to leverage the lessons from the image(s).
