  1. As for an upcoming suggestion for a guest for season 4. Maybe in a different direction. I would suggest an owner of a local photo store. A photo store that is family owned and has been around for over 40+ years. My reasoning is that they have imbedded in the community and service everyone from the beginner to full-on award-winning pros. During the heyday of our local paper, many used this store exclusively. They have working journalists in the store also. And here’s the thing, you can learn anything you need about the cameras you may be interested in before dropping 3k! I think this would be an interesting show.

Appreciate the podcast and the effort you put in to get it up every week. I think there are very few instances where your photography should be free unless it’s a coordinated strategy for your own exposure, future sales or charity. I give away 5×7 prints to athletes in the hopes that what they see shows them what a session portrait could be. I get about 50% inquiries and close to 20% sale. Those sessions generally run about 250 to 500, not including printing. What I have found is when quibbling over price if you do “settle” on a price that client is NEVER/RARELY satisfied with the final product. Because no matter what you deliver they initially valued the product as free or cheap.
